Overview A well-established and forward-thinking building services consultancy is seeking a
Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing London office.
Our client works across a wide range of sectors including Heritage, Education, Commercial, Transport, and Healthcare.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical design professional to take the lead on a variety of exciting projects within a collaborative and people-focused environment.
The Opportunity - Due to continued growth, the business is looking to expand its team with a Senior Electrical Engineer.
- You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across regional offices under the guidance of project leads and principal engineers.
- The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience in electrical services design and a proactive approach to project delivery.
- The role includes mentoring junior engineers, overseeing project workflows, ensuring quality standards, and, over time, involvement in bidding and project financial management.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the electrical design of building services projects from concept to completion.
- Carry out feasibility studies, design development, specification writing, and contract administration.
- Attend site visits, oversee installations, and support project coordination with other disciplines.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and project delivery standards.
- Support in producing fee proposals and managing project budgets (as experience progresses).
Key Requirements Essential: - Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in electrical design within building services
- Proficient in AutoCAD and electrical design software
- Strong technical and sector-based knowledge across a variety of project types
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- UK driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable: - Experience with Revit and BIM workflows
- Familiarity with design and energy modelling software (training can be provided)
