Berkshire/ full time / £30000 - £40000 per Year

Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Slough (Office-Based)
Salary: £30,000 - £36,400 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Process invoices, expenses, and payments efficiently.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accounts are kept up to date.
  • Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims.
  • Produce monthly financial reports for management.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
  • Monitor cash flow, prepare budgets, and manage financial forecasts.
  • Handle credit control to ensure timely client payments.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Sage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong understanding of VAT returns and HMRC regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications:
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential if experience is extensive.
